With all this love of Byzantine ritual, we should bear in mind that the east has never had anyone kneel for communion. Taking the host in the hand is far more ancient and more traditional. The inadequacies of the Novus Ordo need to be corrected and other western rites and eastern rites, if necessary, should be examined as sources of inspiration for furthering the reform of the reform. Traditionalists who try to force a Tridentine world, or "Tridentinize" the Novus Ordo and force it onto other Catholics will be creating tremendous fissures within the Church. Pope Benedict knows this ,and if you read some of his speeches and sermons on the liturgy he has stated time and time again the Novus Ordo is here to stay. So, traditionalists need to get a life and learn to live with the Novus Ordo and work for its beautification and its solemnization. She was never supposed to walk or talk. In 2003, my wife and I separated. At the time, my daughter was not walking, and could not really talk. It was almost a year before I saw my kids again, due to circumstances beyond my control. I was convinced she would not recognize me. As I sat waiting to meet with them in a restaurant, I was shocked to hear, "DADDEEEEE!!!!", and see my daughter running towards me! These kids are not a burden but a blessing! In fact, I just picked up <i>Old Principles and the New Order</i> from my library last week. It is always cheering to find others familiar with his writings. The <i>Rule of Benedict</i> is a very practical guide for the spiritual life in general and, more particularly, life in common with other Christians. I think many folks are finding that it offers principles useful to families and lay communities as well as religious orders. Welcome Plain Catholic
